Researchers have found the use of yogurt extremely beneficial for the elderly. It has high density for the hip bone and reduces the risk of osteoporosis in elderly men and women, according to the report.
Osteoporosis is a disease in which the bones are weakened and the risk of bone fracture increases.
Research has shown that eating yogurt in women reduces the risk of osteopenia by 31 percent and the risk of osteoporosis by 39 percent, whereas in men, yogurt can reduce the risk of osteoporosis by 52 percent.
